What More We Are Scientists?

OK I had to show you this video, I recently told you of We Are Scientists EP and believe it or not I actually bought it. What I didn't notice was that there was a sneaky cover in there of Berlin's Take My Breath Away. Knowing that occasional contributor of the blog +Neil Schofield  is a big fan of Top Gun I thought he'd been interested in this big budget remake of the original. I've always liked how W.A.S don't take themselves too seriously. You'll see what I mean when you hit play...

Oh and they're playing Bristol in March if anyone fancies it?

We Are Scientists New Tracks

We Are Scientists have had a bit of a break and, as usually happens after such a break, their music has changed. For me Good Answer isn't that strong but Dumb Luck with its Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief start is a pretty awesome track. They're also touring with a date in Bristol in March but no date for Sheffield and for my friend Jim who got me in to them there isn't a date in New Zealand sadly (yet) although they have got dates in Australia, that's near to NZ isn't it, in the grand scheme of things?

The World Cup Starts Today

...and of course everyone's favourite is England. Just ask the Canadians. They got their best band (no, Celine Dion hasn't put a band together) We Are Scientist to represent them in the largest tournament there is - putting a world cup song together for England. This event is bigger than Eurovision and the results are just as bad. However, so far, We Are Scientists are the clear winners. Download GOAL England from the official site, for FREE!

Hoppipolla (Sigur Ros Cover) - We Are Scientists

I remember hearing them play this on Jo "The Pro" Whiley's show and just being sat in amazement. How can you cover a track like this, I mean I make up the words as I go but they can't do that. Afterwards Icelandic people texted in to the show to say how accurate they'd been with their pronunciation, pretty good going guys.

On a separate note I saw their first album in Fopp the other day for £3 (We Are Scientists, not Sigur Ros) now that's a bargain.
